Return of Reckoning

I have been wondering since a few days at which class I am going to main..
I decided to level every class to minimum lvl 10, but now I'm in a position where I love playing every class ( with some exceptions here and there) but need to decide on my main character ( and maybe a second character ).

So now.. If you can help out to atleast narrow my search, that would be really really great...
What do I love to do ? Pvp, Big RVR battles, skirmiches and also scenarios!
I want to be usefull and I like to dish out damage. I don't need to top the charts but I like to be able to 1v1 or 1v2 by cheer outplay for exemple.

What I don't want to play atm :
BW / Sorcerer
Engineer ( because I don't really like the turret fantasy..)
War Priest ( I would 100% go DPS all the way from lvl 10 and I don't think that's a good idea to start as a main)

Now, I would prefer to play DPS / TANK.

I'm really open to any class, just need to narrow it down..

Main issue is that classes, which do well in big RVR battles ain't usualy doing that well in scenarios (except tanks, but they ain't damage dealers there). You already said you dislike the best RvR DPS (BW / Sorc). I'd recommend Marauder.

On Destro I would recommend Black Ork, Choppa, Chosen, Marauder, Magus (mirror to engineer but instead of turret you get stationary demons). Big emphasis on Black Ork, and Choppa if you can find a group to play with that can guard/heal you. Shaman is another great solo/small group class as a DPS spec, and if you're willing to play support healer spec then you could do well in a warband situation.

On Order side Slayer, Ironbreaker, Archmage (healer but you can play dps spec pretty well), White Lion. I've read some good stuff about warrior priest on survivability but duno how well they do as a dps focused class.

If group oriented probably choppa / slayer for dps. If solo/duo probably WE/WH or Mara/WL tanks are good pretty much anywhere.

Swordmaster is the highest dps tank from what I've read just a hair over black orc (they deal spirit damage vs physical). They can be quite tanky even with a 2h set up and you can always change btwn 2h and SnB for large scale and small scale pvp. Also will pair well with a dps or healer.

U wont top damage (hopefully xD) but u can stand toe to toe with likely any class but a healer bc u wont be able to solo a decent one.

WP (DoK is chaos equivalent) is a good class for 1v1/2 bc of their heals and will also give u a class to have as a healer if you want to do large scale.

Really cant go wrong with either. One thing to remember is that classes like WP wont be as good early levels with few heals n damage.

Just my thoughts.

I moved around btwn mara, choppa, mSH (think this might be my main), or possibly stsrt a BO. Still trying to get a feel for what I want to do in the game and hopefully find a guild to join for some SC and over.

So.. My short list is now these classes..

IronBreaker ( 2H / SnB , but probably going for 2H, is it good ?)
WH ( I really like their classfantasy and stealth.. but can you make it work in Big battles ? )
SW ( I want to play it ranged but seems like it's not good ? Is it true ? )
KOTB ( 2H , is it viable ? How much damage do you lose if you go SnB ? )
WL ( How is the Pet AI ? How does he perform ? )

Destro side :
Marauder ( I like the fantasy, How is the damage ? Viability ? )
BO ( 2H, seems like a good 2H tank from what i see ? )
Shaman ( DPS / HEAL , switching between needs and wants )

Now, I need a Main class and a second class ( maybe a third one if the second one is from the same faction).
Can somebody answer the questions in '( )' ?

i would go BO/SM .Good enough as a s/b tank for wb play .Good enough as a 2h spec with decent damage for 6man/sc or even some solo play.Doesnt require the level of micromanagment required to play Ib/Bg and u get the best looking class in the game (Bo)

WL/IB/BG/SM for melee/tanky dps, avoid marauder, play for an alt is ok but dont invest too much in it

Frankly, This is my problem of being an Althoholic...
Wish I could just decide on something and stick with it..

I think i should decide in function of faction, just to lessen the pool of possible Classes.
I have seen that Order have less players, does it feel like that in RVR?


I can't imagine i'm the only one with that problem...

Order used to have more players and stomping destro up until around a year to half a year or so ago. And it only has been recently where you see more destro than order consistently (due to the new influx of players around 2 weeks ago). I would say picking a side is less important, the player base between each side fluctuate all the time, the more important thing is finding what you like to play.

I would also recommend looking TheZarbix's channel on youtube, he has been doing a series on highlighting all the classes, maybe it will be useful as someone who is window shopping the different classes right now. Also, it's perfectly ok to have alts, many players do, you just gotta find one to stick with for awhile. Some classes don't shine until at a certain level, or when they reach certain RR rank to obtain the right gear for a specific build, keep that in mind.
