Medallions

Hello guys,

I was curious to know how do you actually obtain medallions. What is the mechanic behind it.
I know that you roll for them, but do they drop from kills? Is it better to go solo in RvR to avoid losing rolls?
I made a BW and i enjoy it, did a lot of t1 RvR and sometimes i had 5-6 killing streaks, one after another. After 2 hours of RvR, i have 8 medallions.
This is a huge discrepancy compared to emblems, which can be farmed way easier. The repeatable quest giver helps as well in that regard.
I do not see how much it will take me to farm the 120+ scout medallions i need for the set.
Please advise.

When you contributed most damage to a kill, you get the loot. When zone locks you get multiple medallions a reward for the lock. When you defend BO, you get a 1 medallion as well. The smaller the group, the more currency you get, because less competition for rolls. In a premade group your mates could even opt-out and feed all currency towards you.
