Mara pull is mostly junk, I assume primarily due to when it check distance checks. I think it must pass 2 checks (cast and pull) so the target must be in range both times. I am probably wrong tho :)

Sure, why not? Shake up the meta a bit. People would have been up in arms about stealth losing its 30s duration a year ago, but now it's a nice QOL change.

The issue with instant pull is that it can not be directly countered, you can't outrun it, nor interrupt. It doesn't seem like a bit too much of a tool? It's like mara has what WL has (both are hard to use and rarely work), but now mara wants instant gap closer like pounce, but better, pulling enemies right in the blob. But Mara is not WL, they are not mirrors, do not share role and mechanics and mSH already has pounce as a gap closer.

In the end, both WL and Mara pull are pretty niche abilities which have limited use, they are not class defining abilities. Undefendable insta pull is almost funny, like you just choose someone and he dies, it is. At least with pounce you are getting to the enemy, not bringing him in the blob.

Mara and WL are mirrors and share quite a few abilities, don't let SH confuse you, the mirror for the SH is the SW. Order has nice gap closers (Pounce, Shadowstep and SM M2), I think it feels about right that Destro has nice pulls (Choppa + Mara).

Effectively you're arguing for WL to have the better pull as well as Pounce which just makes it better than a Mara in 1v1, small scale and 6v6. Pulls do little in WB play where immunities are frequently in place.

WL pull is garbage, about the only time its used is to try to get Shammies and they usually get away and outrun it. On live the WL Pull was insane, you could pull people from miles away which was lots of fun, but now its nothing like that and nerfed so its barely used

Even if it takes the pet 2 seconds to arrive (2s being the cast of the Mara pull) the WL is still able to use abilities during this 2s window... A mara cannot do anything whilst casting, no swing timer, no melee abilities etc for those 2s.

Appreciate it's difficult for people to be rational, but just play both classes for a bit and it'll be obvious. WL pull is far superior outside of cities where WLs will typically go aoe spec and thus not be using a pet.
You could cast cc on the pet when you see it coming. I dont think being able to cast abilities in this 2s time frame is of any impact at all. In theory it allows you to cast exactly one more ability (gcd is 1.4sec) in between.

No impact, but you then go on to say it allows for an extra ability? Given a 1v1 may only involve 7-8 abilities, that's a huge benefit over the Mara pull.

Mara's pull is working fine and it's better than wl's. The only thing you could complain about is the range nerf of our m1 root, which was more a nerf for mara than wl.
