Rydiak wrote: Sat May 08, 2021 3:36 pm Cross-realmers create zerg-surfing, and Order defending its forts doesn't sound to me like a good reason for why cross-realming should exist. If Destro wants cities, they should push for Altdorf instead of relying on the cross-realmers to push IC and then switching over to Destro toons to defend it. Logically it doesn't make sense. Pushing to attack the side you wish to defend on is equivalent to forcing a loss on the side you then want to profit on.
This is a private server with limited population. Destro cannot push without xrealmers (which are the majority of players who keep the server going ) Nobody is "defending" or "attacking" . Its creating cities.

Well since FMJ re-rolled order...yes, EU-Destro push to cities only due to help of x-realmers!
Thanks Tzeentch we have them here, the all mighty x-realmers that keep this game alive!
FMJ, PnP, EWG, AoW, ABS...all these pesky x-realmers!

Maybe you're speaking about NA prime time, it's hard to tell in this hell of generalization. ;)
This doesn't affect eu primtime rp guilds. Thia is an na problem

You're not. It's just a couple of ppl whining because they can't push a city on one side, then swap to the other to defend it when it pops.
whoosh

Give them one pity invader/royal and send them to t2 this will encourage more people to queue aswell.

Hardcore niche PvP games are a hard demographic to pull people in because they're not soloable themepark adventures that appeal to a massive playerbase. Totally different worlds.

the "social and friendly" guild pvp between factions seems to have some issues too

Rydiak wrote: Sat May 08, 2021 3:20 pm This change sounds like it is working as intended. Zerg-surfing to a city and then switching realms to defend said city with instant-queues because you are now on the underdog side doesn't exactly sound logical or fair. It almost sounds exploitive of the ORvR reward system. If you want to gear out your character on the other realm, why not just start the night already playing that character?
Except it isn't zerg surfing, xrealmers are the ones who push city. If order wants free pve rvr during NA time, they get IC for free, they have for months. If destro try to push, order prides (no city). So now peopel have to switch over to push altdorf. Noe they can't do city on the toons they want it on. They are putting in the effort to make city happen and then getting punished for taking the initiative.
I think this is exactly what the change is meant to address - purposeful circumvention of game mechanics.

You’re putting effort to make city happen and our crew is intentionally trying to pride on either realm to stop em’. What does that do? Causes oRvR. OMG

This.

Only changes I see of benefit would be to add extra royals to the bags of T2 & T3 zone locks. We all know that time after city is when the population is at its smallest, so why not give a good reason to play then?

Plus those tiny keeps don't see much action these days, and making them the center of attention if only for a brief period of time may stave off the potential for staleness at the endless battles of Praag and Caledor. I did a siege for the very first time in shadowlands not that long ago. Never saw battles there even in live. It was great.

What game mechanics are being circumvented?
