Help relogging in

Recently I have had my MMO spirit reignited and I want to give this game a shot. I remember that I created an account in the past but never installed the game because I was wary about the torrent.

I've tried logging in, but my account is inactive. Going to the FAQ, I saw that there was a solution to reregister my account, but when I do that I get an error saying that my account is already registered.

Is there a step that I am missing here or is there a deeper problem with my account?
