Class Lore

Were some of the classes made only for the game or is there actual lore outside the game for the classes? I can’t seem to find anything on rune priests and disciples of Khaine outside of the game lore. Are there any miniatures based on these classes?

I'm new to the game, but I'm a pretty big warhammer fantasy lore nerd lol. The two classes you mentioned are probably the biggest outliers in comparison to their counterparts in the tabletop/novels.

Runepriests are essentially Runesmiths, but stripped of heavy armor and weapons to fit into the MMO "holy trinity" of tank, healer, and DPS. The basic premise behind them is the same, anyhow.

DoK, on the other hand, have no direct lore counterpart that I can tell. They simply needed a healer for the Dark Elves and a mirror for Warrior Priest. They're just DE Warriors (aesthetically Bleakswords) that use magic.

That said, I'm just rereading the Gotrek and Felix novels, and I literally just read a scene where a witch aelf carves a sigil into a fresh heart in a ritual to Khaine to see the memories of recently killed priest. So DoK abilities are far within the realm of possibility for some of the stuff that folks get up to in Warhammer Fantasy. I think they did a pretty great job of creating something new that wasn't at all outlandish.

Interesting, do they show how does the sigil looks like? And what other requirements the ritual has?
"Can we play with him, master? He seems so unhappy. Let us help him smile. Please? Or at least let us carve one on his face when he stops screaming."

Unfortunately not. Other than some dialog, which I won't add due to spoilers, this is the only description given before she starts receiving visions of the heart's... former owner:

With the blood still pumping, she began cutting the heart, gouging intricate sigils into the muscle, all of them centred on the symbol of her beloved, blood-thirsty lord, Khaine. When she had covered every inch of the heart, she cried out an invocation and the organ began to smoulder, spilling smoke between her fingers.
