Edit:i have found the solution for my problem,it was the antivirus that blocking the connection with the server,i create an exception for all files that could need access to the internet (testpatch.exe, WAR.exe, warpatch.exe, RoRLauncher.exe) and the problem is solved.

I'll try it tomorrow.

be sure you have authorized all .exe (ror launcher include) files with your antivirus/firewall.


Also check if there aren't already somes firewall"s rules about these files can block them...

I have been having this same problem, I have noticed that for some reason on the torrent dl i'm not getting any of the .exe files

Add an exception to the folder in your anti virus and then do a force recheck of the game in the torrent application. It will download the missing files.

I only just learned about this private server yesterday and got extremely hyped. Unfortunately now I am running into this problem aswell. I've tried all of the suggested fixes but none of them seem to work. I was able to bug my way into creating a character by ferociously clicking around on the black screen. Unfortunately if I try to play on that character (that I have no idea how looks or anything) the game simply crashes.
I really hope there is someone out there who has another idea that may work.

EDIT: I downloaded the client via the torrent at first. I have since then tried downloading it directly (the 5 parts). Unfortunately I end up with the exact same result. Without knowing for sure I think this may be a problem with the system and not the files, firewall, anti-virus etc.
I do still hope for a solution though.

Thanks. I've read about that and did as was written:

"You need to rebuild performance counters. How to manually rebuild performance counters:
1- Go to start, and type in the search box "cmd". Right click cmd, and run as administrator.
2- Type in the command console, "cd c:\windows\system32", and hit enter.
3- Then type "lodctr /r", and hit enter."

It doesn't decided my problem. So, after that I did another thing - redownloaded the game client and the launcher, changed permission for the game folder before launching the game, and finally made an exceptions for the game exe file, patchers and a launcher. Now it works.
