It's very dangerous, imagine one realm gearing up each other in ranked... goodmorning balance in oRvR!
Please, think twice about such ideas... people will exploit that kind of mechanic like they always do here.

Well, for one example, it helps avoid these kinds of situation:

Other than that it would also help make MMR more relevant and meaningful because all characters will be part of the same pool, rather than being separated into two arbitrary pools.
This also means that different classes, especially mirros, could be more easily compared in terms of class balance using average MMR statistics.

yh go go ranked 100% round robin mix from the start. be nice to see 30 ppl in the queue and can be any 6v6 takaing into account mmr.

there will still be an issue where one side has 20 ppl in the queue and the other 5, the side with 5 will just keep getting pops and if 1 or more of those is an assassin...

also, how many classes have abilities/skills/conditions that stack xrealm besides the auras one???

I don't think that there will be an issue like you describe. Unless I've missunderstood, the remaining people will fight each other : 6destro v 6destro or 6order v 6order. Still a problem imo, balance wise.

Balance shouldn't be motivated by ranked results but oRvR. The only thing I can see here is just more procs for the most populated realm in ranked queues => ez pz gear.

When Eldrazor pits mortals against each other in his arena of death he only cares about the honorable trial by combat. The petty allegiances of mortals are not his concern. As such you might find yourself fighting your former comrades and alongside former enemies!

- Mixed realm teams are enabled as a test in Ranked Solo. And same realm fights are enabled in Ranked Group.

- Ranked Solo will still try to create teams of each realm, but will fill up with players from the other realm is there's not enough from one realm for a complete team.

- Chosen and Knights of the Blazing Sun are blocked from being in the same team for now as stacking two AP auras or two heal debuff auras would be too powerful.

Its not so much about motivation but about what direction to even look in. Solorankeds are probably the last type of gameplay to seriously balance the game around (6v6 by designa premade-oriented play that requires curated team comp and communication), but solos can still serve as a way of identifying clases that are overperforming or underperforming on average.

"Ranked" should change its name for "Experimental 6v6 BS" now, since dual realm teams has been allowed. Decision was mb good from pop wise problem of solo ranked, yet is strikes team balance hard like no action taken before during history of this server and even Live servers. I hope to see this changes to be reverted at some point or at least to be limited to only this game mode, cause it strikes fundamental fragile balance of team composition not to mention core aspect of the game which is and always was Order Realm vs Destruction Rrealm.
