Stay tuned for a small update on Crafting Intro Quests in a future update.Fenris78 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 03, 2022 9:00 amAnything helpful to beginners is a good additionRubius wrote: ↑Sun Oct 02, 2022 7:45 pmGlad to hear it! We hope the new Talisman quest will be really helpful for new players, and for vets making new chars, you get a couple free Talis that can slot into any early gear too.BluIzLucky wrote: ↑Sat Oct 01, 2022 2:31 pm Thanks for the updates, it's really great in world tutorials are getting added
It's probably been thought of already, but would be nice to see a quest introduction for professions as well, with recommendations by class/archetypes/playstyle (pve/pvp)
I like the idea of something to introduce the Crafting Professions... will look into it a bit and see what possibilities may be!
About crafting it could be good to implement a mini-quest for each crafting and collecting skill, like killing X mobs and retrieve the crafting components, then craft a simple talisman or potion (the NPC should give you basic needed components - since crafting need two different skills -, and should explain what other skills are needed to do that, like Cultivator/Butcher + Apothecary, and Scavenger/Salvager + Talisman maker).
Some tutorial panels could also explain the basic ways of crafting stuff, with an access to them in the ingame help section ; wiki is already good and asking other for tips will still be needed (to know the effects of multipliers, stabilizers and other specific stuff), but a simple description of the two crafting interfaces will be very helpful for players.
Also, you can consider adding distinctive icons over crafting teachers all around ; seeing only "Apothecary" or "Edge Wizard" may be not enough to easily understand thos NPCs are actually able to teach you a crafting skill.
Finally, adding CraftInfoTooltip addon to the base game, as you did with SoR, will be of great help to any player around ; just knowing what is growing from a violetseal seed you dropped from gunbad, or a powder while butchering mobs is already a great help to understand your crafting skills
Thanks Blulz and Fenris for the recommendation!
