Going to sound silly.
But I notice that my level 13 Shadow Warrior had a difficult time soloing the HARD PQ in the first Elf Zone. Whereas, my lvl 8 White Lion was killing without impunity. I had to kite the Hero with my Shadow Warrior and not make a mistake or get killed in 3 blows. With my White Lion I can jump in with almost 3/4 health from fighting the Champions and not worry.
I also noticed something similar in the Scenarios.. My White Lion was racking up kills and DPS and my Shadow Warrior well.. Sort of sucked..
But looking at the Killboard for the month and week you can clearly see that Shadow Warriors are on the top of the list.
Personally, I sort of like to play the weaker toon and underdog. To me it's more fun hopefully seeing a weaker class on the killboard.
So I am guessing that some classes blossom later on in the levels compared to others.. But would like some confirmation on this.

You can't compare classes in T1, they're mostly balanced for T4. In T1 you will find tanks and healers dunking on DPS in 1V1's because those DPS are missing key tools they get later.

Wait wait, SWs top of the list? Did they fix this poor class? I had a long break and just got back

Precisely this, they have so much AOE Dots that deal no meaningful damage but tags full warbands so you just farm killboard kills, its a strong 1v1 class though with Guerilla tactics. But not as strong as ppl make it out to be
Re: [Class Growth] Notice some lower level toons doing better then others
Killboard kills are based on who does the MOST damage to the target. So tagging wbs and doing no meaningful damage will not farm you kills. What they are doing is following WBs and using ST to focus one at a time. The WBs fighting will spread their damage out using AOE and so will do less percent damage than the SW sniping each enemy one at a time from afar.
The King.
Re: [Class Growth] Notice some lower level toons doing better then others
Not at all what's happening. Skirmish is absurd with like 90% armorpen possible along with general damage increased and 25% crit damage added. Scout is able to two shot most non-bis players without guard, even if you are sitting in vanq it kinda doesn't take much more than Fester and FtW critting for you to be pretty done for. Yeah, they drown out in a zerg, but up to mid-scale atm it's 90% SWs, the rest are triple WHs and WLs just doing pulls for SWs into Fester.
It's utterly miserable to play anything that isn't in BIS atm, because you straight up just cannot get within the range of any SW decent without dying in a couple globals.

Simply just not true, I was literally top of weekly killboard for like 3 days with 400 kills as a level 34 SW just running around tagging people with my meaningless dots
Re: [Class Growth] Notice some lower level toons doing better then others
It's still true. You can do a thousand killingblows as far as actual last hit goes, but get no actual kills on the tables. The DoTs are anything but meaningless, and your statement already supports this statement. Keep in mind if 10 people from different parties hit a target, you don't need to do thousands of damage in the short window it takes for people to die to have done the most damage. Often more than enough to get in a couple of those 800 damage crits from BHA/SS alone. Toss a 1200-1400 SFA into the mix and yeah, you will get leaderboard kills from something that to you, seems like nothing, but in reality is a pretty hefty chunk of damage. Let alone if we start looking at 3-4k festers and 2,5k FtWs. Honestly the entire kit just deals absurd amounts of damage at the moment compared to what the class conceptually was back in the day.saiho wrote: ↑Thu Sep 19, 2024 7:43 pmMedV wrote: ↑Thu Sep 19, 2024 6:05 pmKillboard kills are based on who does the MOST damage to the target. It's just utterly frustrating to see how overtuned it is, as someone who played the class for years. It does so much damage that the entire identity of the class is gone. It's just a BW with no telegraphing, no counterplay and none of the downsides now.
