At the moment, the current RvR system is just an ordinary, empty attraction that simply pits players against each other. I wouldn’t want to go back to the old system, which revolved around besieging the enemy capital, but there are plenty of ways to give meaning to RvR. However, at the moment, I repeat—it’s just a mindless attraction of chaotic fun with zergs. I hope that in the future, the developers will address this and breathe new ideas into RvR.

City siege has always been stomp or be stomped. It's not fun which is why most people ignore it. The population is currently way up, so I don't know what this post is about. You're complaining about the warcrest change? Baffling.

The biggest issue at the moment is the terrible changes to scenarios with guard placement and barriers. Our complaints have been ignored, so there's really nothing more to talk about.

I'm OCE time zone and been playing for 6 or so months now. Got a 80 main and multiple rr70s across both Order and Destro. In all that time never have I seen a city siege. If sov gear was back in city sieges only, I never will get sov. And that fact would have made me quit a looong time ago. Crests at least make that achievable.

Last time city was fun is like 2008 when it was just an open zone with broken PQs that no one could complete and it was absolute chaos.

After the currency change all the 4/5/6AM city sieges died and everyone got more sleep. They also made the city worth quite a few crests initially (even when you lost) so people would queue up and attempt it even if they didn't want to make some meta warband.

But the reward was too great for losing so they nerfed that into the ground and there's zero point to queueing city if you don't form some organized group.

Likewise this why the RoR devs failed with making the campaign into something exciting, and made it feel like an automation process without a 'soul'' indeed.

There is nothing to strive for except just farming war crests over and over.

Scheduled cities made the campaign( per se) pointless since there is no purpose to it, just an endless repeating slog with an anticlimactic end. This will make everyone fed up at some point, it could only feel exciting for a newbie player.

The old campaign was far from perfect but at least it made some sense and created some kind of faction tension, as a war game with two opposing armies should. Endgame gear was more of an achievement since it could only be aquired through this content, Royal crests meant something, War crests homogenization does not.

Hence to answer the OP , one either finds a niche in this game( whatever it may be, solo roaming, socializing with a guild etc) or just stops playing it, many have quit and some will return during events etc but ultimately this game lacks an endgame and NOT because it has to be like that, simply because a poor model for the campaign was chosen.

Event do help to refresh the experience and class balance etc creates a little movement but utlimately the RvR campaign is just not good at all, that's a shame since it could aspire to be something better since the potential for it certainly is there.

P.S. For those who have forgotten or never had a clue, this is what RoR is based on ( yes it should be an ''epic'' conclusion to the campaign, this imho should have been emphasized and encouraged by the devs, the scheduled city is a disgrace to the RvR campaign)

Its never about of rewards, its about quality of figths. We have ranked, sc, city, rvr, lotd. Ranked dead, sc dead, city dead. Only rvr and lotd left but its mostly uncontrolable blobing where is only solution for 90% of game comunity - zerg. Yes game became shell of itself, only playable in rvr on prime time. Other times its just zerg taking empty keeps.

As usual some people asked for sc rework, for rvr rework, that will spread mass of player all across rvr map so we have interesting and balanced figths, but yeh who cares about this when most casuals happy with turning brains off and just zerg. On top most hardcore pvp guilds just fade to oblivion and quality of rvr droped significantly.

Sometimes i just log in, w8 sc to never pop and looking sor where one side is x2 of other and log off. Btw sc prem sadistic abuse of pugs lost TON of new players for the years, but devs pref to make utube advertisements then to fix it. For me seeing inting nude people without pots queing over and over amto same sov geated prems, indicates that degradation of comunity on its peak.

I really like ror, but all hopes died after events that leaded to leaving of people from game community that was interested in quality of gameplay and promoted ranked, org wb, org cities, gvg, tournaments.
