1. I agree, a timer would be nice. The arguments against are valid, but if the devs implement a timer, this would be a clear statement that they don´t want xrealming. Sure it is easy to circumvent this login-timer, but you can play this game for free because of people that voluntary make this possible. The least they could expect, that the people playing this game accept their rules.

2. and 3. Disagree. In my opinion leveling and getting renown is too fast. they should lower both earnings.

Does this warrant bloating the player database on the server and forums (remember, your game account is also a forum account, and every crossrealmer would create two), and disabling crossrealming to the weaker faction, while I don't agree with peterthepan3 on how common it is, there are still people who seek AAO, or prefer the "underdog" situation, just to "make a statement"? They could just, you know, post it on the forums if they really want that, and the efficiency as anti-crossrealming measure would be identical, with less coding and database bloat needed.

My biggest issue with the people who insist that "something" must be done against crossrealming is that they do not consider the consequences of what they propose simply because they do not care. It is a revenge/scapegoating mentality that is behind a large number of these suggestions: this thing annoys and inconveniences me, and it might not be compatible with my playstyle either (such as only having characters on one side), and I want to see someone held responsible for it and heads roll, I don't care who as long as it happens. It's a sadly very common way of thinking and it only causes damage on the long term. It is because of this that the very same idea keeps popping up over and over again, and some people just refuse to listen to the reasoning behind why it won't work.
Now I'd like a lockout somewhere between 30 mins to 2 hours or so as well, but there is just no practical way of doing that. Every suggestion I have seen so far does not have any reasonable effect without doing considerable damage on the side. I'd like vadio to explain more in-depth about how his UID idea is supposed to work exactly, on that note.

2) It takes about 30-45 minutes to get to level 15 if you know where to farm (even less). Our guildies boost new toons to 32 in about 1 day hardcore/2 days casual. The renown is relatively easy to farm, too. Compared to many other games, leveling in this game is a piece of piss.

If only you played different hours. Usually zero destro premades worth a crap in NA primetime (yes, my groups count in this, we still need to get good), and probably 3-4 order ones every night.

But that aside, this is pretty accurate. Tons of people do this, and a lockout would just screw them over. I remember when mythic fixed the bypass for their lockout, it literally killed entire guilds - one person would accidentally log on destro, and another order, and bam, thats 8 hours before you can play as a group again.

Theres probably a way to deal with this crossrealming "problem" (if it even is a problem), but this isnt it.

Also going to note about this. Putting a lockout would absolutely not make this happen. Just because the type of person that logs to the zerging side when they wipe gets stuck to one faction, they wouldnt just get the urge to participate in rvr, and join in these nice even 100v100 fights everyone dreams about. They would see that their faction isnt taking empty keeps anymore, and either go to low tiers or afk in the warcamp or flat out logout.

I guess people dont remember, but mythic tried this exact solution, and it didnt work at all, if anything it had the opposite effect, and rvr became even more one sided than before.

Have any of the devs stated that they would prefer players not to xrealm, or is this just the opinion of some in the population?
