As you have said, putting a timer won't stop everyone. Post before mine says IP block won't stop everyone. But will it stop a lot of people in the huge zerg that appears when a keep defence begins? You think the average person can be bothered to mask their ip? You think EVERYONE who xrealms can be bothered to switch accounts?

Why do you assume the defense zerg is crossrealmers?

When a keep def starts the call goes out in T4 and people flood in from other zones, pve, and scenarios. I think people under estimate the number of people who just sit around semi afk until something like a keep defense pops up.

The exact same thing happened on live, which did have faction locks.

Ah good, someone actually willing to further the discussion.

I suppose you're right that it could be people coming in from other zones to defend, but in my experience it seems to be that by the end of the siege the defenders outnumber the attackers. I of course don't have numbers on this so I can only give what I've observed. There is a marked 'disappearance' of people every time the siege wavers, which again I guess could be people logging off because they don't think the siege will be successful. What simply seems fishy to me is how the defence consistently seems to grow while the attack seems to wane.

The only way to reduce xrealming is to make levelling and gearing such a long process you could only ever bis gear a single main character to t4 then to provide some benefit to alts on that realm. Decaying event items and talis also help with people wanting to get full benefit from them.
I see a lot more xrealming in the lower tiers with whole warbands dissolving and suddenly the other side doubling in number when its clear they are getting gear and renown. People have even said they were going to in chat.

If there is one more post about Crossrealming in this thread, it's getting locked.

The Oil HP complaints in the OP are moot, as an issue preventing their vulnerability to cannons was hotfixed last night. Oil also has a 3 minute delay before a new one can be placed - if this is getting bypassed, it's a bug. 5 Cannons focusing an oil will destroy it in about 15 seconds. If this is still too long for anyone, let me know, and I'll just lock your characters to Tier 1 now.

You can feel free to discuss the other two issues, respawning in keeps and the SAFE state timer being too short. Or any of the other things being brought up, like progression systems.

Maybe have the rezzing be at the nearest BO under your faction control unless the wc is closer? That might not be possible because of layouts on some maps though and not be balanced because of the layout.
