When you run "Stay Focused" in combination with the tactic "focused Mending" it can provide a considerable improvement to healing output. They have different benefits. "Gather Your Resolve" is your bread and butter for reducing damage to your group from Sorc, Magus (lol) and to an extent WE. With points in the right tree it is generally higher than both the Arch Mage or Rune Priest abilities and has the added benefit of debuffing your enemies.

I would also like to add my comments behind the post from Tankbeardz and state that the tactic "sliced Through" is a fantastic tactic and once you gather enough armor points, you can safely drop rugged for the extra crowd control a multi-target, 200% uptime snare grants you and your team.
