Invest your time and efforts into the CHosen. Level him up through T1 and be a savage, then hit T2-T4 combined and be bolstered into demi-god status. Once you hit 32, reality will set in and you will be good-for-guard only. Grind out Ruin gear, go SnB, and become a Guardbot 2.0. SC until your fingers bleed, Find Beastlord groups, Grind ORvR, and eventually, with a good 6 man, you can go Greatweapon.
Not long after that, Client Control will allow the devs to change the class completely, probably forcing you into the level grind on the Magus you skipped months before.
It'll be fun.

Eh, just the occasional paranoid ramblings of the raving lunatics in the off-topic channel in-game. So no, nothing definitive.

I've talked about it before. Breaking up a bunch of them into more targeted aoe buffs and debuffs. The damage aura would operate like the live aura, as it only had one function anyway.
Maybe a toggle to switch between offense and defense effects. Maintaining effectiveness (power levels) while increasing difficulty of application so it's not entirely brainless and always on.
Still fine tuning the application of it, but that's the jist.

Interesting! So this power level thing, are you looking at it being a meter that goes up and then reduces when you cast an Aura (similar to what Slayers and Choppas have for their abilities now) or more of a "Winds of Chaos" meter that fluctuates randomly so you have to time your activation of an Aura to get the greatest benefit? Also, how long will the Auras last after activation? And will there be a chance to have a critical success if you get the timing just right? Overall it looks like the main thing would be rethinking your rotations in order to best take advantage of the meter.
Tell us more!!! Inquiring minds want to know!!!

If reality is Salt, there is no hope. Nothing I stated in my post was false. The speculative part is also true as of today. The class will change. Leveling a Chosen now, will only lead to re-learning the class once the Client Control rework is done. I advised the orig poster of this fact. It's one thing to be 40/60 and get a rework - you already have the gear. Its entirely another thing to be 40/38 and get a rework as the "free and easy utility" Chosen enjoy ATM will be reworked into something not as free, not as useful, and definitely not as easy.

Uh, i just meant the relative power level of the abilities would remain the same.

Aww, I guess I was just projecting my hope for huge changes that would shake things up a bit.
Still interested in any details about the mechanics once you have them ready to go!

I get it, you're a glass half empty kind of guy. You feel that any changes will be "not as free, not as useful, and definitely not as easy." That's cool, you feel the way you feel. I just personally think that in the end the more likely scenario will be "Hey, this is rework is kinda neat and makes the game more fun! - I'm glad we went thru the process". The reason I think that will happen is because it's what has happened with most of the class changes so far.
Sure, the opposing side complains when the guys they fight get buffed, but thus far I really haven't seen anything game breaking that doesn't get adjusted if it's too powerful. All part of the process, embrace the change!
Oh, and to the original poster, play the class you like the most!

I don't imagine the class needing a radical overhaul; more, the relative ease of application of their aura 'mechanic' being adjusted somewhat (as per wargrimn post), so that (potentially) the auras could become even stronger than they are now - but would require a lot more manual input.
