ohhhhh I thought the original guy was trolling and saying just two mara's and that's it. You mean 2 maras as the dps in a 6man though

I mean if that's the case, it sounds like itd be missing out on real raw dmg.

When you say skill ceiling like that it makes me think of rogues in wow.
They are one of those classes that almost anybody can do ok with but somebody who pushes it can become quite formidable, and the term I heard used was high "skillcap" which is what your terminology made me think of.

I'm also gonna guess that poor squishy sorcs don't fare so well in 6 mans.

Yeah when I say a high skill ceiling I mean that the class is very intricate and if you spend a lot of time on the class you can be very good.

That's the same as the rogue, except the rogue is very beginner friendly too, very forgiving of mistakes.
Yet it has a lot of intricacies that, when mastered, make the class and the player shine.

What are the main points of emphasis for a 2H BG?
Like if I picked up my 20-something BG and started playing it after forever.
What would be the minimum skill set to make a good start and be effective while keeping the beginning learning curve manageable?

If you want to be on the safe side I would suggest a DoK. Deftard + max morale for M2 full group cleanse. In a "6man (a)" setup you only care about your group and nothing else so this makes a DoK mandatory as primary healer.

I don't know the tank sitation on our side but I wouldn't be surprised Chosen is still primary tank in a 6-peeps.

You won't beat an order 6 peeps premade based on WL by trying to copycat it on destro side. The only way destro had a shot to beat Lednail/Liandel full 6-peeps was if the other 6 order in a scenario weren't good enough, and you actually should read terrible or bad for the other 6 orders. The WL is, and by far, the best dps for a 6man and the number two isn't even close. WL is a game changer in this aspect.

I'm wondering how an order premade with WL + SW + SM would fare with their triple pounce now.

Oh really?

Then less people would complain about them on destro.
Their dmg wasn't changed, just their healing reduced big time, which gives destro even more reasons to rage in chat.

WE and Sorc are good in 6man

rr47 on WE is a bit low, you miss important tools like elixir, once rr60(rr50 with 4p anni) you will become a killing machine in 6man

Appreciate the indepth response! I have a dok, and do find it fun to play. However, it's not really the role i'm looking for right now. I'm most interested in a bg or mara at the moment.
Is a WL THAT much better than a mara in this situation? WL's definitely do far more dmg, but mara's from the looks of it are more debuff heavy. Does that not make up for the lack of damage at all?
