But I thought this game always marketed itself as a 'PvP game', where people apparently despised anything non-PvP related 'because I only play for PvP!'.

Naaaah...doesn't work as well, mate. Point being that people are so into their PvP here (apparently) that I'm sure something competitive would be right down their avenue - y'know, because they love PvP so much (allegedly).
