It's already dead, I guess we are a victim of blasting pots?
Mist is literally dealing less damage now than our baseline DoTs that don't have the drawbacks of being... 13 points in a tree and a ground AoE that you can just walk out of... Another reason to never invite magus and engineer to city groups I guess.

Yup mist is hitting for 80-100 dmg per tick then 120-130 then 130- 140.
Magus is just a dead class atm.

Could one of you lovely Maguses (Magi?) let me know what the damage numbers of mist is now? Please let me know:
1) Your intel without any gear equipped
2) The damage of each tick on the practice targets while naked
3) Your intel with all gear equipped and buffed up
4) The damage of each tick on the practice targets while in full gear
Thank you

I'm not sure how damage was decided on these puddles, but the base damage and primary stat mods are very low for a DPS class. Expect an adjustment, don't expect it to be wildly overpowered.

that is absolutely true, but I guess I understand why. with talents and reknown, it wasn't hard to get 50% crit rate.

It wasn't wildly overpowered to begin with. Keeping the damage numbers the same as they were would've been ok. Just changing it to dot damage like you did would've "fixed" the proc issues. But completely stripping the class of something that takes 13 points to pick up was just a brutal slap in the face to magus and engi players. I appreciate you looking into it though
