I was wondering the same. Too many farming scrubs out there.

From my experience farming lately points to the marauder as ideal. 4-5 mobs at a time and you can deal with the ap drain because you're spamming just one skill; magus is an absolute ap hog and you need a dedicated healer/guard, then you can cook with gas.
Don't know order.

Turtled up KoTBs with Stay Focused, On Your Guard and All out Assault was the easiest if maybe not the fastest farm bot.
steps;
1) Park yourself by pack of mobs and macro pull + aura twist (obsolete now) with auto loot on.
2) Relax
3) ....
4) Profit

You can still farm, but any Rare/Very Rare items will not drop from mobs. Rares/Very Rares drop in RvR zones by killing enemy players. You can still farm Uncommons from mobs.

Would this still work?
The aura change only made it easier right?

I think the best classes for farming are WP/DoK just for the sustainability. you never have to stop and wait for HP to come back and the dmg is high enough to drop mobs quickly. Just my opinion though.
Single target solo farming=WP/DoK
AOE farm=Engi/Magus
Group Farming=Slayer/Choppa, BW/Sorc, Engi/Magus
Honestly, you can AoE farm just fine on a WP as well. Guilty Soul procs on Smite crits and Soulfire (yes, I know it's an objectively awful ability in RvR, but it works fine here) make quick work of groups of mobs.
You run out of AP relatively quickly, but the mobs are usually all dead by then. Guilty Soul and Divine Assault together do a great job of giving you incredible survivability against multiple mobs.
