It's possible the server is corrupting characters and making clones of them that force you to rename ...somehow? We all know the server is made of spaghetti so can't rule that one out, I guess?

I also lost the name of a character that I've frequently logged on, so the "1 year inactivity" can't be the reason.
Not sure what the cause is but it's kinda sad.

Sounds like bugs. Time to take some character names...
