Kids are temporary, but sovereign items are soulbound. Should be a no-brainer.

Maybe you're, I don't know, a dad in their early 40s and you thought you could sneak a quick scenario in while your kid are quietly playing/coloring in the other room. Lo and behold, as soon as you hit accept, they begin arguing over which crayon they could use or someone got too close to the other and it escalated to pushing.

Not that I would know anything about that...
I don't really mean perma ban on first offense, ofc, because of things like this, just do what league, wow, or multiple other games with que systems do, league for example, afk in a match, 15min + que time for next game, then an hour, then a day, reset penalty every day, pretty easy fix, but if they hit that final penalty multiple times for example (the people i originally named) should just be perma banned because he knows he's not going to play, and grief the team (again i can't think of an mmo without this much needed system). This post was more to bring light to trying to punish people that are constantly afk.

But to answer you're question, yes if you're a dad, you know you have kids, or distractions that could take you away from the game, that you qued for to play with other people, and you afk the full 15minutes. Regardless of why you should be punished to some degree for greifing your team (intentional or not), its not your teamates fault that you had to go do something else, otherwise there's no way of tracking who is really abusing it.

That's me, when people don't deserve an easy way out.

Doing the same, pushing no is not pride, it is punishment!

Put guards back in scenarios and ban groups in t1-t3. Right now most afking comes from getting farmed. At least guards gave you a chance to get a few kills when the team over extended. There is also a guild on the top 10 this week who seem to exclusively play t1-t3 scenarios whose kill to death ratio shows they are set up to farm the less organised/new players. Surprised any new player sticks with this going on.

IIRC you cannot even be afk for full 15 mins. You get booted from the sc way earlier than that and you are being punished too, just like in other games, by getting the quitter debuff.
To be "afk" for 15 mins duration you have to be somewhat active and yes, thats what i would call griefing too. I just dont think it can be punished automatically because, as you said there is no way of tracking it. Only way is, as already mentioned by others, to report with significant evidence like video or screenshots.
