T1 is a wild thing and can go from a "I want to leave as soon as possible" to "I could stay here forever". It's very much depending on population on both sides.
The people around go from complete new like you, to veterans levelning a new character and this very much determine the outcome of a fight.
If there are big numbers on both side in open pvp, it's very hard for newcomers to come through this because in this level bracket you don't have the tools to deal with so much damage income.
If balance is one sided regarding numbers, it's either boring or can be frustrating. You mostly have 2 zones open, look for the other open zone in another pairing if there are small fights.
Don't go alone, join a warband, find some guys to group up, in general the people around you will be helpful and friendly, ask them about the game, ask other players of your class about best way to play. Ask again, ask other people, learn the mechanics, the faster you get to know your char and the core mechanics, the faster you will start to enjoy what you do and get in progress!
If you did your first steps and maybe figured out what's most fun for you in this game, find a guild that fits your playstyle.
Going through this game alone is much less enjoyable, it's build on teamplay, the better you communicate with others the better you will be!

To some guys in this thread:
It's funny that people always complain about the low population of the server and then acting like the game THEY ARE PLAYING is the worst pile of s.... ever created.
Instead of helping people here, give them advice how to make the game more enjoyable you ranting constantly, are you really thinking this behavior is helpful?
