I see whatchya did thereboog wrote:My hopes is this will help new or returning players
Tank - Which ever one you feel after researching their abilities fits your play style best
DPS - Which ever one you feel after researching their abilities fits your play style best
RDPS - Which ever one you feel after researching their abilities fits your play style best
Heals - Which ever one you feel after researching their abilities fits your play style best
only one thing to add here: also pick the class that is the most fun to you, cause in the end that is (or should be) the reason you play the game: fun! (or ****-measurement)boog wrote:My hopes is this will help new or returning players

WAR has a unique system where a classes chances of success are based on the person behind the character and not just because this character clearly has better mechanics. There is no one above all class for any situation, each class has their own unique strengths and weaknesses that can be varied based on renown and mastery points to avoid a rock, paper, scissors situation.
Utilize this great source to look at your classes ability range, mastery possibilities, and renown possibilities:

And of course nerf Magus because they are the master race and beat every class without question.
**Edit** Just because I know people will get all huffy, yes gear does help a person succeed. However, if you are an idiot without the basic idea of how to player your character properly and go against someone who actually knows how to play their character, I will put money on the person who knows what they are doing.
I would disagree with your purpose.boog wrote:
I am not saying that the game is perfectly balanced. However, I do not believe there is one class per class category or period that is clearly rock beats scissors, scissors beats paper, paper beats rock. I don't think that concept is outlandish at all. The purpose of the post is to say, there is not a best of each class type that is instantly better and that the term "best" is subjective to the persons play style.

I agree with what you are saying; however, I think either I didn't properly phrase what I said or you misunderstood. Regardless, the term best being subjective to the persons play style by how I intended it to mean is, yes, Engi may not be the best RDPS class. However, Engi might be the best suitable for a person's playstyle and would be a better player over all playing as an Engi compared to that same person playing as a BW.foof wrote:I would disagree with your purpose.boog wrote:

The "best" is not subjective to a personal play style. The "best" are the ones who were designed to fulfill their particular role better than other classes. It has absolutely nothing to do with what you find the "best" or whatever, and everything to do with an objective analysis of game mechanics.
Saying that I like the Engineer as the best RDPS class doesn't make them the best RDPS class, because they just aren't.
That I fully agree with, sorry for the misunderstanding.boog wrote:I agree with what you are saying; however, I think either I didn't properly phrase what I said or you misunderstood.
