That's..... actually a pretty good idea.

Whilst jumping on the 'this was a good decision' band wagon, I'll also mention that I often wonder why players who complain about wipes and roll backs really don't seem to realise that, in my uneducated casual opinion, there are probably a lot worse things that can happen to a private server such as this. Take the roll back, even to 1:1 if it comes to it, if it means that you can keep on playing.

Solo or groups of afk'ers should not receive experience and so would not get a roll on the loot.

You could also set up an RNG system where contribution plays such a large part in the roll that only people with the top few contributions have a chance of getting a gold bag. For example, the top 6 contributors would receive bonuses of +500, +400, +300, +200, +100, and +50. No one else would receive a bonus. The roll would have a maximum value 300. In this situation, assuming there was only 1 gold bag, only the top 3 contributors would have a chance of winning the bag.
Do this please.

Is it? Consider that the only difference between that proposal and the way that it currently works is that the contribution points earned are shared with the group, because XP earned is a function of DPS.

If there's no contribution scaler on the group, or it's not large enough, you get screwed if you're grouped with someone who has less killing power, as maximising contribution is still about DPS.

If there is a contribution scaler on the group, you get screwed if you're solo or can't get an invite (doubly or triply so if you're a healer or a tank) because the deck is arbitrarily stacked in favour of groups.

You want to solve the contribution issue? Pool contribution points and allow healers to tap into the pool when they heal someone, as XP/RR works in PvP. Track damage dealt by champ and hero mobs, and reward contribution for those who absorbed it. Share it out with the group if you want. Tanks and healers are now included.

Yeah, that's fair enough. All in all, it's great to see contribution being introduced instead of it being completely random.

Or simply count and reward actions* (number of abilities/gcds used) regardless of it being heal or damage and how much it hurt/healed.

* in combat in area ofc

APS doesn't mean you contribute to anything. You can spam Mark of the Vortex on yourself durning the entire PQ.

So easy to filter out stupid stuff.

Compared to counting heal numbers or damage delat this is fair even if you do useless actions. I suggest you try a healing shaman in a PQ with a few doks in it.

Becomes a "game mech issue" in the loot system if "weaker classes" get less loot dont it?
