I used to have both of those classes in my 6v6 back in the day. People maybe wouldn't believe it but sometimes it's the people you run with that matters. Sure it wasn't the optimal combination but we still dominated and had fun doing so.

See, you just said it wasn't the optimal combination. Because the optimal combination would have been WP/RP/KotBS/IB/Sla/whatever.
Anyway this is really easy to prove: let's have a 6v6 night. First you run with the optimal combination (WP/KotBS/Sla), then you run with the sub-optimal (AM/SM/Eng).
I'm not trying to start a flame war, or imply that he/you/me is bad/good. I'm just pointing out that:
1) Good players can make UP classes shine.
2) Those same players will do much better if playing an OP class.

Assault stance and armor debuff. Works both ways - at least it did on live. Also, apart from being a troll, armor talismans were a waste of time. Gimped your damage on a class that was only relevant in group play as a glass cannon.

Not quite true.
1. Not spamable, you have to ailment stack which means you are dealing with a GCD on broadhead arrow and flight time before you are putting up shadow sting. Works out to make a difference when there are cleanses in play. Admittedly you can keep a target heal debuffed for a good portion of the time but it does suck a lot of AP and GCDs to do so.
2. Only 65ft range without access to the 95ft range tactic up the skirmish tree. Thats a big difference in terms of risk, although I suppose you aren't dealing with marauder pulls, zealot staggers and a whole wack of other T4 dangers in T2.

Well luth... funny u should mention an all elf six man. Back when they had that one sc... six man only where you had to port in... we ran a five wl group with one healer. Won all but one in smashing fashion. Hard to do anything when all your healers are insta dead. I'd like to see how a five slayer group would do.
The best part was saving a shaman for last and just having the five lions eat him while we waved at him.

Hmmm... I guess you Pounced mid-air anytime you were punted. Sounds fun, i wonder if i'll be able to see that someday in RoR.

I hope so. It couldn't be done in last few patches on live, because of changes to Pounce behavior. I loved to pounce back from Dragonwake bridges, Eternal Citadel edge or after being punted. Those were the "ooompf" moments you will remember WAR for.
