@Coma You don't need to close the gap by yourself... you have 1-2 tanks with you as well as probably another mDPS. With RD/CW gone, catching a rDPS should be easier than ever.
Sure rDPS can be guarded as well, but they usually lose DPS when being in melee. A mDPS obviously does not. rDPS are also usually way squishier than melee classes, so it's probably not a good idea to get caught (even if you have a group).

Combine this change with a nerf to stacking AoE damage morales, and I can see it being positive for the game.

sorry penril but minimum range for RDPS have been removed from the game long time ago... so RDPS don't loose dps at all while in melee range ^^' (they can even fire Auto attack and with the changes to SW to only being able to use melee AA when in assault stance they can continue to fire their ranged AA even if you get them in melee ^^'... on the other hand al RDPS have access to clese quarters/expert skirmisher and other tactics that actualy INCREASE their DPS when close to the enemy ^^')
and again... based on what you said...as a DPS you need 1-2 other player to stop another dps... sorry, don't mean to be offensive or contest every single one of you words... but does it really seem balanced to you that a class from one ARCHETYPE need the assist of other 1-2 character to counter a class from a differente ARCHETYPE that share the same basic role (damage dealer)... at this point... when you, the 1-2 tank and possibly 1 more MDPS are dealing with the kiting RDPS... what are the ally of that RDPS doing? looking at screen with popcorn in their hand? or actualy killing your undefended healer (since your whole party is being kited around by a single RDPS... even if he end up dead he would still have accoplished quite the good result if he was able to keep 3-4 player engaged for 10-20 seconds ^^')
I'll say it again... I'd rather wait for the patch notes to be out before continuing this discussion ^^ but if RD/CW where removed as a way to conter RDPS... than this decision should be rethinked... if it was due to other resons... than as said it is hard to comment or test without knowing WHERE and WHAT to to test ^^ so let this argument rest until the notes are out ^^

I just want to remind all of you, that Resolute Defence was in the game since it release. Cutting it off is similar with cutting off class or location from the game. You can't make game better by cutting something off, it makes it only worse. To make game better you need to add things. This is the only good way.

Technically speaking lots of stuff were in the game since the begginig and are long gone now, that argument is invalid mate
