Well even though the rr isn't going anywhere we still have loads of new gear to farm.

Leaving the renown capped at 40 is good, since conquerer was (and maybe will) rr 40-45 and you shouldn't be able to get the requirements before the set is even available.

By soon, I meant within the next day or two. Generally, pushing is going to take a little while, then we expect there to be some big fires to put out from bugs you just can't replicate without 1,000 concurrent players. The smoother things go, the sooner we can hash out issues.

In short, we are discussing the removal of renown caps completely, and instead resetting renown (in a way that doesn't invalidate progression) when there's new content. For example, we could release RR80 now, and when conqueror (and related content like forts) is released, roll back RR to a range between 40 and 50, depending on how far you had progressed before the rollback. Then do the same with a range of 50 and 60 when invader launches, etc. But what do you do about mastery points, renown abilities, and passives like the +50 AP pool?

Also, this is a distinctly "testing"-oriented approach, which will not be looked upon fondly by players who insist they are really playing a complete game and should never experience setbacks or corrections.

Another option is to raise the cap slowly as we have been, and generally either slow the RR rate, or increase the renown required to level.

We need to finish discussing it internally, then we'll broach it to the community, and go from there. It's literally the next thing on the radar, but getting T4 safe takes priority. So maybe two or three days, depending on how badly we broke everything.

im sorry if this has allready been asked but with the changes to RR caps will this effect players that are above there lvl in RR now for example ppl that are lvl 35 rr40 will there rr be reverted down to 35 ?

It actually hasn't been asked. You will simply no longer gain renown until your rank and renown rank are equal. Once you hit level 40, this restriction is removed (though there are currently no additional renown ranks to gain beyond 40).
