It may be "realistic" and it may be genius, and interesting, and all these things, but it doesnt keep me engaged. I dont log in and remember "that one time I defended a BO for 30 minutes".
If you mounted a successful defense twice, id imagine you were rewarded with some medallions + renown? Also, I would imagine, if they come @ 33 seconds, you cant hold out for maybe 20-25 seconds considering it may take them time to actually cap it? Considering you held them off twice before? If not, thats part of the strategy! Maybe instead of rushing right back only to have to hold it another 4+ minutes, YOU wait till there is only 40 seconds left to jump on it, cap it back, and get the sweet tick for your group when it ticks to 0:00...Luuca wrote:@thegatekeeper
So timer is at 33 seconds till lock of a 5 minute countdown. Your team has received zero rr or inf from holding that point against 3 attempts from 2 different groups who have challenged you. Those 2 groups gather up a few pugs and roll their blob on top of you at 20 seconds left of the 5 minute defense and vaporize your group. They get the RR and Inf tick as a blob, you get jack. Oh wait.. you get 20 silver health repair.
Ya sounds like fun.
Holding till lock is a bad idea. We have seen this unfold numerous times. Nobody (that I know) is recommending "lock timers". Thats what I think makes this "count down" timer more appealing. You cant blob around to EVERY BO, you leave something undefended, and a small group or even a solo player can ninja steal a BO with a few seconds left of the tick timer...Luuca wrote: EDIT:
Holding till lock and moving on to the next BO to lock sounds like a great way to encourage the Blob rolling forward with locked BOs behind them and victims ahead.
Planting your guild banner, taking a stand, defending YOUR point on the map, and taking ownership of a zone sounds dull. you are correct.

Lmao that sounds epic afGodlessCrom wrote:I like the guild banner idea, just sounds like it isnt technically doable right now. Guild ownership of stuff in game is always a plus in my book. First pvp mmo I ever played was Shadowbane, and everything in that game was about guilds controlling areas. Led to some great times, including the one time we sieged a guild and took their city cuz one of us heard them trash talking us on our alts, and so we took their city and then posted pictures on the forum of us deleting everything we looted and then destroying the city itself because we needed none of it, and we killed their guild and took their city only because they **** talked us. Honor was satisfied in the end when they all quit the game. Was glorious
I agree. When the new lock system is implemented and properly tested we will see how will we (the players) deal with it, which tactics are we going to use and in what manner. As always, the players will find the best/most practical solution for locking and only then we will see if that solution feels ok or it feels wrong and game breaking. But that's the purpose, change>implement>test>keep it or change it some more.Tesq wrote:my feedback is ppl should stop give feedback till the 3 different lockout methods will be implemented, Especially be lock with 1 keep+flags is alredy a huge gamechanging factor
