If the devs are going for matching the original game then this change is working as intended. On live you could never make all the gold you could ever want by spending 100% of your time in pvp. You could get the best gear (except the time period when tovl gear was meta). And you could get enough for flying/rez sickness from kill quests, plus a little extra if you saved up. But if you wanted lots of gold/pots/mats you had to spend time outside of the lakes, and do tovl/lv, or farm scales, or whatever.
That doesnt mean this server has to copy live exactly, but thats how it worked.

This is true. You did have to put in time to farm gator pits or do ToVL for the LONG CHEESE or buy Chinese gold farmer gold for JUICY BANK. The problem people have is that to just suddenly nuke the nuts out of PvP income creates a wealth imbalance between new and established players. They needed to accompany the nuke with a partial gold wipe but they were scared to wipe people's DECKED OUT BANK WADS

The thing is there is nothing to give you that large amount of income because there is no PVE. The income generated is through killing. Removing that source of income works against everyone. Decreasing income removes the demand for all products across the board driving up the prices. Nobody has the money to pay for ghose things because their income has been taken awa. Nobody buying the products means wealth is not produced further driving up prices.
Edit: also, disincentivizing ORVR means less blue and purple drops which salvagers use to make talis decreasing the quantity supplied creating a shortage and forcing those prices up too

Devs need to just put KilL Quest collectors in IC/Altdorf, one stop location for them all.. I dont care if the cost/worth is reduced, im tired of having to dedicate so much time to flying all over the place to turn int hese quests after every freaking Scenario I run...
Just give us one big Kill quest, Kill 100 people get 10 gold, done.

Fascinating, so the argument here is that professions are forced. Lovely sentiment.
Gutting the Kill quest rewards while leaving zone travel the same rate was an idiocy. It penalizes core game play. It makes things much harder for new players to level or progress in a viable way, while really having no impact on those with vast sums of gold already. Combating inflation is not done by attacking the core activity of the game, but by creating attractive gold sinks.

This could work. One should be able to be viable, just doing the primary activity of the game.

Any response from the Powers on this: fixing the Kill Quest rewards so one can be viable playing the base game without being forced to PvE etc.?

I think they are actually happy people can farm PVE now instead of going in the lakes. I'm past caring at this point this will go down the toilet fast and people will leave if they carry on with bogus changes. I really don't understand this, i just don't a PVE AFK guy making a PVP related change. What are you doing exactly.
Forgive me for saying this but shouldn't the economy be more focused around PVP than PVE ?

on order side, its pretty obvious that culti/apoth is not a viable as so many ppl do it. prices went so low on both raw mats (goldweed, gobswort) and green pots, i dont think its even worth trying anymore
proper talis for most stats still go between 25 and 50g a pop
been trying to work on salvaging and tali crafting, but considering ppl sell even lowbie green gear for 2-3g a piece, and that i got no decent ways to make an income anymore, i seem to be stuck in a loop of poverty, need to find a way to get money to make more money
even on my lil alt, cost of flying to t2 is 5 silver, and halfway thru the lvls i dont have access to the 2nd quest, and reward for the first one, the 15 kills is 5s... so basicly, doing it for the xp, reward and fly cost evens out.
i try my best no to bitch around here, i like the game, enjoy the efforts of the dev team, but all this change has done is make the rich richer and the poor stuck in a bad place where they can barely manage.
like other ppl said, this hurts the new players, creates a gap between new and established players. gold should have been wiped to accompany this change, most likely the ppl siting on a phat pile of it dont even need it anymore for their chars, and it was probably not done because of the reaction they'd have anyways
