So I was just playing around with my RR 4x SW and WL this weekend on a vacation from my SM and AM to see if either of them caught my interest again. Tried the SW out in both RDPS and MDPS mode and ran the WL as a Loner (for giggles).

Even as a Loner, the WL was superior for roaming in general. Better able to engage. Better able to get out of there if things looked bad. With his Lion even more so.

SW as an MDPS at that level is amusing but meh (although fun to kill WE who think you are an easy target up close). SW as RDPS is fine BUT DPS AM has most of their tools and a heck of a lot better utility and sustain.

As usual, YMMV.

WL is fine for solo play, I just finished up farming my Vanq set yesterday 100% solo. And you're still fine in pug scenarios so I'd say it's a good class for solo play.
It's not as strong as it was back when conq came out even though the class was pretty much identical to what it is today, other classes have changed and the meta has changed alot.
You won't find very many 1v1 situations anymore so be ready to die quite alot.

I do however reject the idea that WL is the easiest Mdps to excel with in ORvR, WH/WE are much better for solo play in ORvR because they can almost always pick the fights they want and have better dps for fights longer than 4gcd's. They also have a better chance against medium tanky targets than WL does.

I don't know much about SW but as for WL it's a good class and very fun to play.

Hi, I am new to the server and was torn between SW and WL. I usually like to play solo, but I do not want to limit my self to only solo play.

For a new player like me who likes mobility and dealing quick dmg (i.e. glass cannon), what would be the better choice?

I just rolled a Shadow Warrior, but I have heard that WL might currently be the better choice? Is Shadow Warrior a good melee class in endgame?

WL is superior melee anyway. Melee SW needs a group to function well and its gameplay became a bit dull after some nerfs in the past.

WL is the most mobile DPS in the game and is a true MDPS character. If you primarily play solo out in ORvR then WL is definitely the better choice but solo in SC's will be a little touch and go if a random tank doesn't Guard you.

All in all it sounds like you'd prefer a WL over a SW, though both are a lot of fun and casually viable.

The WL is dead as a solo class. It is nothing but mediocre dps with a buggy pet that has been further nerfed by the devs so that if destro is running away, the lion pet can not catch up and pull them. When the pet does get to someone, the pull mechanic rarely works.

WL mastery trees were broken as well and things moved around, as well as having damage reduced. The class is a mess, and that is the way it will stay because too many destro players will cry if order actually has a decent balanced class to play.

Really? Hmm, I see. What would you suggest as an alternative for the WL and a MDPS? Slayer, SM?
