The server is supposed to be online for as much time as possible. The limit so far has been 3 days, and i presume that the ultimate goal is to never turn it off except for patchs. Thats how it is supposed to be to allow PvP to happen.

Dunno where you got this from, but it's incorrect. Scheduled server restarts/downtime will be for hotfixes/patches.
Any unscheduled restarts will be a result of a crash, or a GM manually restarts it for a specific reason.
You can see when the server last restarted on the index page.

Confirmed.
e.g. on my knight only the body armor is back , not the boots. On slayer a 2h bloody axe is also lost.

Well I would assume that today there was another server crash, since there was no GM announcement being made.
I've also not only not only not get my chest back on my main, but this time I've lost an 2 items from backpack too :/
From what Ive heard in /advice many ppl did not get items from yesterday crash too.

Compaings, I happened a surprising adventure !
Yesterday I logged in the game. And then, bam ! My two-handed weapon has disappeared ! I disconnected... I connect again... Still no two-handed axe !
So I head to the merchant, and I realize that a little expensive weapon is much better than that which has just disappeared. So, I am more strong through a bug ! Long live the Alpha !

Hier, je me connectais au jeu. Et là, paf ! Mon arme à deux mains a disparue ! Je me déconnecte... Je me connecte à nouveau... Toujours aucune hache à deux mains !
Alors je me dirige chez le marchand, et je me rend compte qu'une arme peu chère est bien meilleure que celle qui vient de disparaître. Du coup, je suis plus efficace grâce à un bug ! Vive l'Alpha !
