Return of Reckoning

Hey all,

After downloading CyberGhost and figuring out that it worked for me once my game started to work. I didn't even need to open cyber ghost in all the times following that I opened the launcher. However, now it stopped working again and its just so upsetting? I've tried everything in this thread and multiple others but apparently nothing will work fully. Is there a way the devs could take whatever is causing this problem out of the patcher? I'm just wondering as to why I have this problem only on this game and nowhere else. I'd just say screw it, but well, this is the one game that has the problem, and the one game I want to play

EDIT: Also, like I said it had been working fine until this morning, at which point I put miracle grow remix in the addons folder (I already had enemy and buffhead there). Then when I logged in I had to use cyberghost in order to do so. Realizing I needed libslash as well, I exited and put that in the folder. After that, I cannot log in no matter what. Could this somehow have caused a problem (and could this knowledge make it easier for someone to help me! ) ? I have since removed miracle grow and libslash but that didnt help. Im wondering if adding them switched a setting or something that I now need to adjust.

We are doomed.

after following all the suggestions spanned across multiple threads, nothing seems to fix my issue of authentication failure, i have changed my password on the forums however it doesnt seem to updating on the gameserver side of things, as it is still accepting my original signup password, help please

FYI:

I suddenly got this Authentication Error, where on launching the game you get an empty black box where the server handshakes usually go. After a few minutes a pop up saying "Authentication Failed - application will now terminate". This is on Win10.

Had been playing happily for 3+ months on this PC when I suffered a typical Warband crash. On immediately relogging I got the Auth Error and couldn't log in again.

Tried many of the suggestions in these topics (CCleaner, new launcher, malware, antivirus etc). I've finally got around it by using a VPN (Cyber Ghost) although I have to disconnect from that once the initial launcher login is done in order to continue and connect to the actual game server.

i guess i tried everything already for the last 12 hours
any help ?

tried CyberGhost, got server window, but keep looking for battles, connecting to server, timing out etc.
only this made a difference

IPv4 hosts can't talk to IPv6 ones.
IPv6 _can_ talk to IPv4
i guess this is the point,

Seems like this issue is happening to a lot of people - One option I Would suggest is using a VPN.

Step 1) First launch Cyber Ghost 5; select UK from the "Simulated Country" drop down on the bottom left, leave "Simulated IP Address" on the bottom right as Automatic, and then click the "power" button on the bottom middle to connect.

Step 2) Open and log-in with RORLauncher

Step 3) Once you are on the server selection screen, switch over to Cyber Ghost 5 (or whatever VPN service you are using) and disconnect. When connected it may say timed out

Step 4) Go back to the game and click the "Select" button on the server selection screen and it should connect without an issue.

In a post above I describe how suddenly after a "typical" warband crash one night I get the Authentication Error and now have to get around that by using a VPN for login process.

I have now noticed however that if I log in during the daytime (GMT) then I can login with no problems at all, I do not need to use the VPN or do anything non-standard. Tested repeatedly and log in fine every time during day but try and log in evening and cannot unless via VPN.

Anyone have any ideas why this happens???

Anyone have any ideas why this happens? Played fine earlier today. Right now needing a VPN to login.
