Initiative reduces your chance to be critically hit, and also increases your chance to Evade attacks (basically avoid being hit by Squig, SW, also Engi mostly? Magus is mostly magical that gets disrupted)
Some tanks might get some Ini talismans, most other classes don't bother because better alternative exist. (as in, instead of lowering chance to be critically hit, you would want to decrease chance of being hit at all or making you able to last more hits)
and even with massive Ini reducing your chance to take crit dmg hits to 0%, enemy crit rates will be taken into consideration and RNGjesus usually likes to screw things up.

Well high ini prevent massiv increase crit on you via debuff
If you have Just 200 ini and get a 120 debuff you are permanent critted

It´s generally a good idea to have your chance to be critically hit at around 0 - 3% on every class you play. Since the longer you survive the more useful you become for your group. Also a lot of the dmg in this game is crit-dmg.

Correct.
So at least you should get your Ini to 300.

Jep But via But its better to have 350 ini and Chance to be crit is 5-8 % than 200 ini and Chance to be crit at 0% because you have Chance to be crit reduced Just by items and renown points

Ini is a requirement for pve tanking, since you want less than 0% chance to be crit (due to instance mobs being higher level). It's not that useful in PvP.

Of course it is usefull in pvp.
In a 6vs6 or 12vs12 what kills an opponent is if you can manage a lot of damage on one target before the healers can react.
Crits are peaks of damage which support a damage burst.
