Premades vs. premades

So - any word from the devs about premades fighting premades and Pugs fighting pugs? Mythic didn't seem to care about creating equality in the teams that fight eachother.

It's not really fun only fighting against premades from 17.00 cet (sometimes earlier) and then all night no matter if you play Destro or order.

Easy solution for most might be "Join a premade yourself bla bla bla" but that just isn't possible for me every night.

We have said several things, but to recap:

1. We don't have the population to completely segregate pugs and premades. Also, it's not clear that it would be a long term good idea to do so, if we could.

2. We will be experimenting in the near future with scenarios that can only be queued for solo, or as a group. This is different from having two separate queues, as there will still be some pug/premade overlap for the other scenarios in the rotation. I can draw a venn diagram if you like.

3. There is always a debate about what makes a premade a premade (much like what makes a zerg a zerg). a 6-person party using voicechat is definitely a premade, and a solo queuer is definitely a pugger, but in between is a lot more gray area than people like to admit, and there's always room for abuse or exclusion in gray areas.

I think this is all you need - sounds awesome. What scenario is currently designated for solo que only?

Don't believe we have one in mind yet. The idea only came up recently - the focus for these discussions has been more about handling group/premade specific scenarios.

Ok- i think group sc's like EC are great to add.

I really do hope you experiment with implementing one scenario that is solo que only. It would be interesting to see the statistics after a month or two of what sc's are que'd for the most.

EC with an invisible wall to prevent the punt fest would be a great 6v6 environment, as well as Calador Woods

It would have to be a scenario where winning by objectives is a viable approach. When there's a good chance of getting stuck in a scenario with 6 Tinker-specced engineers and 6 DPSing runepriests vs 8 DoKs and 4 zealots, you don't want something where you're going to be forced to fight in one place or over a single objective. That scratches out Tor Anroc, Mourkain Temple, Lost Temple of Isha, Caledor Woods, etc.

Maybe Phoenix Gate as a solo-queue only SC, or Nordenwatch. The kinds of scenarios you could throw 24 bumbling idiots into with the worst possible party makeup, and still watch them get 500 points with some clever play.

Gates of Ekrund would be my suggestion. It is the most common SC that has been used so far and the multiple flags will keep things interesting

I like phoenix gate for a few reasons.

One - it was a cool sc that would be nice to have back.
Two - i think the experiment needs to be a new sc that is publicized as only solo que. this should hopefully remove any confusion with how things currently operate.
Three - I agree that the sc needs to have some objectives to it and phoenix gate had 3 flags.

Khaine's Embrace sounds like a good pug-only SC. Ranged have room to kite, melee can LoS, and clever players can ninja the flags for the big BOOM.
