Botting Question

I was wondering what the Dev's and GM's will use as their definition and criteria for determining whether or not someone is "botting".

I will often set my KotBS or Chosen up someplace to farm mobs with dmg aura and loot while doing work or studying and my character will not budge for hours at a time. Would this be considered "botting"?

Botting is playing without playing. How does your char looting ?

Edit: look to this thread : http://www.returnofreckoning.com/forum/ ... 4&start=20

If you're automating the act of looting, via any means, you're in violation of the rules on botting.

Thanks for the link, very insightful. I have my looting set to "F" key. So I will just randomly pop back in and spam the "F" key to get what I need and then I pop out again. I usually also have one of my wife's characters in group with me leaching the EXP to level up. She and I both do not use any programs and deviation from the RoR client.

So from the link you provided it would seem I am in the clear. Thanks for the clarification! :D

I assumed using a program to loot for me would be botting so I don't use one. I just have my loot set to "F" key and spam it every now and then when I pop back in and loot what I can and then go back to working/studying lol.

I figure I should add that my computer is never out of my view while this is going. I keep RoR in the smallest windowed resolution possible and just put in the corner while I do work.

A man to my own heart. I do the exactly same thing. Quick-loot for the win!

This is perfectly fine. I never do this myself, but because of the thread linked here I decided to check it out for myself, and even with a damage aura you log out automatically unless you press some buttons, so it's not a problem at all.
