Hi i wasn't sure where this was meant to go as a topic but i've recently purchased a copy of the game from ebay and concerning the installation of the game to play on this private server am i able to install the game from the CD and play it or would i still need to download the game from this site thank you all in advance for the help

Did the seller mention that the official servers were shut down a few years ago and now your retail WAR copy is worthless other than as a collector item?

You definitely got scammed. Id contact the seller and if he doesnt do anything contact ebay directly and try to work it out with them.

Either way the cd will not work, as it is not the version of the game being used here, so try following the instructions linked to above, and if that doesnt work there is a support forum you can ask for help.

you can't play it by using the CD, you should download the game from the official site in order to play!
