iam not sure where to ask and haven't found any answers while searching the forum so i just ask the question here

is /target (Playername) removed/non existant on purpose or is it a bug or just a missing feature ?

It's not currently implemented. Would be nice to have I guess, but it's not that important.

can someone explain to me why this was moved to Suggestion / feedback if iam not totally wrong this is mainly an issue because of the missing API function TargetPlayer(PlayerName) ?

It was not added intentionally.

'/assist PlayerName' works if you're looking for that sort of functionality.

Its helpful for PvE mostly, especially for finding named mobs. I have never used it in a RvR aspect of the game.

"works" is is used very loosely. Unless something have changed int he last month, using the Assist Macro is many times useless. I have no idea why, but it seems to stop working after a few uses during a competitive SC match.

There were a bunch of mob tracking addons to find champs that would continuously spam /target xmassivelistx. There were also addons that spammed for a list of players. I don't think we really want either of those functions being used.

thats the wrong one , i talk about /target xxx or the API function TargetPlayer(PlayerName)

thats wrong too - never had a known "Threat" or a typical first target because you know THIS Player is dangerous ?
in more crowded Situations this could help you a lot to target the right person even if you can't click him !




If it is on purpose could you please move this thread to Developement or Addons again , it is an important infomration especially for all ppl that try to "fix" "broken" addons

ye sometimes you need to check where an ally player is, it can help if it could be implemented in future just for your realm.
