Is this just a bug or will this stay like this? I mean being able to play as both factions, thanks =)

Yes, you can.

Because there is only 1 sever, I would think that this is not a bug.
As of right now: Go ahead and play both factions; most players do.

Pretty sure the server will remain PVE style. Meaning players can log on both Des and Order. Currently, there is no "lock out" time, if you choose to switch realms.
