Allow non-admins to post in the server status thread

The old thread allowed us to see immediately if other people were experiencing connectivity problems. The new one isn't updated quickly or consistently; especially during off-hours when an admin might not update the tread for several hours. Thanks!

I won't be doing this. It was proof enough it just turns into a **** storm, so I'm regulating these topics in such times.

The old thread was also filled with spam and off topic nonsense. Made it even hard for people to find info.

just make "server status - official" where only admins could post and "server status - community" where players would just post info about status and offtopic bullshit and do not respond to it in any way

Seems a good idea to me.

This is a terrible idea. Why would the community need a topic dedicated to it when there's an official one which will be easily accessible to read for anyone.

I'd rather have topics under control to avoid the disgusting attitude I've (and the staff) have has to deal with. There are plenty of other topics to discuss during the downtime of the server, hence the definition of the word "forum".

"A meeting or medium where ideas and views on a particular issue can be exchanged."

Let's keep it as such.

The community needs a topic for times when there isn't an admin available to update the official thread (as happened earlier today for several hours). In these times we can share information among ourselves and save time/effort troubleshooting our connection if it's the server and not us.

We had one for the community, then it become useless. Even when that was accessible to the community, people still insisted on creating new topics about the same thing, instead of reading.

The simple fact is: No one reads, and they refuse to when told to over, and over, and over.

Make one. If it catches it'll stick. But I stand with Elven and say any official or go-to information should be left quick and to the point. If any improvements are needed it could be changed to a stand alone banner on the home page and not have a 'thread' mechanic. Banter, and discussions belong elsewhere, and there is already an off-topic bullshit discussion area.
