Grudge-born Fury ever worth it?

Just like the title says. Say I want to do my best impression of a an SM/BO, and smash folk in the face with a channeled attack, but I don't wanna be some dumb orc or poncy elf. I know on live my buddy Jvirus crushed folk on Dark Crag with 2h IB specced into Grudge-Born Fury, but times were different back then heh.

I know the reason SM do so much dmg in part is due to the fact that they're doing spirit dmg, and they double debuff spirit resists. I've seen most other 2h IB run Grumble'n'Mutter, Earthshatter and Punishing knock, with Cave-Win the only thing they get in 2h tree. My gear isn't quite good enough to run 2h yet IMO, but once I get it up to snuff, I was just wondering if I should maintain that spec (it's close to what I run as shield IB, except I grab Oathbound in Stone instead of cave-in obviously), or if Grudge-Born Fury synergizes well enough with our armor debuff+crit chance to actually do decent damage? I mean, I've seen Volgograd smash folk in scenarios, but pretty sure he also runs GnM spec.

Grudge born furry wasnt viable for me because: channeled(easily interuptable by taunt,kd,kb,disarm),low dmg outpoot(around 350dmg crits in t3 in full dps tree/gear) back in the days of T3 endgame. I dont know how it stands at lvl 40 in T4 with anni gear.

Not worth specc'ing imo.

It does less damage than you would get from heavy blow, and cost more AP.

Also you don't get autoattack while channeling, and the channel range is really small so it breaks easily. It is just not a good skill to use imo.

Yeah generally its a waste to spec it for the reasons Karast pointed out. I would say its better to either put more points in the tree to improve debuffs and damage or put points in another tree for more skill access.

Ah bummer, as I thought. Well, Grumble'n'Mutter+Cave-in is still a lot of fun :D Especially while solo roaming. Ranged classes still beat the pants off me though. Except Magus. Poor, poor magus.
