Keep Lord timer suggestion

Once a faction kills the keeplord, immeditately the new keeplord, champs and merchants all pop up and attack the defenders on top. Making it even more difficult to defend the top. Most of the defending go up to top to have at least a few kills. Is it possible to have a 5 minute timer or something to give defenders a bit of a chance?

I would increase that to 20 minute timer or even a full half hour. I remember some awesome 3rd floor battles from Live. It would be great to have them back.

EDIT: As I think on it, I believe once a zone locked it was no longer contested, so there were no keep guards or lords. They did not spawn till the zone was contested again. This had been done to curb the farming of keep guards for LoTD resources i think.

Why?

I see no porpose to this than to just aid those want to stick around and farm kills

The keep fell

The objective was lost and you move on, not stick around to farm kills

I agree with wiscel, stall the battle 3th floor next zone usually takes 10 min before it opens. .best to stay and fight 3th floor

People just didnt bother defending Lord. The just went to 3rd floor to farm renown. If you loss the keep why should you be rewarded with a renown farm.

If you flipped the zone just leave whatever on the 3d floor. In the past were you needed to controll max objectives to flip a zone it had some substance camping 3d floor as defenders as you could retake the keep if they didn't manage to wipe you up there. But in this system you just win the zone on lord kiil. So no need to feed kills on 3d flor. Just leave.

But they aren't, right? I mean, you can just leave (after taking the keep) and not let them farm you. I remember those 3rd-floor defenses on live, and the usual approach was: "let them rot up there, let's move on to city/next zone".

Their is no strategic value for the "3rd floor"


Take this as a double standard if you will

But if the attackers take a keep then they have the "right" to go and mop up and straggler defenders whom have not escaped the fallen keep

But defenders dont and they should be punished for staying at a keep thats no longer in their control and failed to defend properly hence why i oppose the ops suggestion

If youre not going to defend the lord or cant then failure shouldnt be rewarded. I remember on live people would call for 3rd floor defence when they hadnt even got ram up on inner. At least here its lords room or funnel.
