Return of Reckoning

Just looking at Merc vs Anni and Anni is not an upgrade as far as I can tell. No more Armor, and barely better stats. Seems like a wasted set IMO.

Astute observation.

It is an equivalent set, as designed.

It varies amongst classes, specs and playstyles.

A quick example: My gear set goal for my Sorc is annihilator, even if I play ST spec.
I know Merc is better damage-wise, but +62 wounds, a little more ini and toughness is better for ORvR in my opinion. I can get Int via potions, unlike wounds. And I don't need the +1 path of agony for my spec.

Just seems like there is no goal now. No reason. No gear progression. Now I wish I wouldn't have looked. At least before I thought there was a reason and a goal beyond renown rank.

I thought for sure it would have at least had more armor.

This game has many armour sets we will get access to them once the instances, dungeons and forts in which they are won are implemented.

This. I mean, you have three choices. Merc, Anni, and Anni/Merc. For what it is worth I have played and tested all three with different combos, and each reflect their own strengths and weaknesses. I like full Merc for the crit bonus, but then I like full Anni for the parry bonus. I like the mix for the str/toughness combo bonus. I also like donuts.

Dont forget Ruin! Very viable for Tanks
