Ap drain change

Firstly i am well aware the balance forums are gone because new gear brings new fotm setups and such but ap drain isnt something affected by new gear which is why i am making this post.
I have been meaning to say something about this for a long time but the nature of the forums made me very hesitant to do so.

The issue is very easy to understand, the change..being from an ap drain every 3 seconds to every 1 second stops your natural ap regen, i have seen this from my enemies point of view seeing them go to cast a spell only to have it fail half way through the animation and have been on the receiving end seeing my whole group die because for the entire fight i have no ap (its very easy to cover ap drain so it doesnt ever get cleansed).

Imo common sense should prevail, there is no ap drain immunity like there is to disarm, silence etc etc and there shouldnt be but an ap drain or 2 can equate to a perma silence or perma disarm which is very wrong.

Im pretty sure the reason for the change to how ap drain works here compared to live is because of its unreliability, where it wouldnt drain any ap from targets with no ap ? if so isnt there a different method that can achieve the same result in terms of actually being a reliable ap drain and not equating to a perma silence or perma disarm ? changing the time between ticks ? having it drain 90 ap instead of 180 but you still receive 180 ap back ?

In large part, the balance forums are closed because we do not have a dev currently working on balance/abilities. You should wait until they open and post then.
