HIdden COnditions for Keep upgrades and zone locks

The Issue
So the evening of October 19 2017 pacific time, One of the active RvR zones was Riekland, the condensed version of the events that night is that essentially there were at least 2 keep sieges and 2 successful defences one for order one for destro. At the end of destro's attempt on the order keep, order pushed the zone and capped and held all 4 BOs for at least 5 minutes and as long as 10 minutes, the keep exp bar reached full but wouldn't move to 4 stars. A call went out for some dev help and one did respond and state that the most likely reason was due to not enough people in the zone to rank the keep up.

Possible Solution
If population was indeed the reason the keep wouldn't upgrade then my suggestions are
  • 1) consider removing the population requirement from keep upgrades/zone locks
    2) find someway to either post a zone message stating such, similar to the zone message about keep doors not being repaired
    3) make it available to the interface through add-ons
Closing
The biggest frustration about what occured is that there were no answers, and no ability for wb leaders to clearly make a decision on what the next course of action should be. As a result several people logged and it was a bit of a let down on what had been a good night of RvR. Hidden mechanics create uncertainty and discontent and while it may not be game breaking it does make it hard for people to enjoy their activities when they feel like the system is working against them.

To add to this, since I was there and had a great number of solid fights vs destro, push and pull through the zone, I get why such a mechanic is in place. You want to prevent four people from being able to flip a zone on their own, but it seems like it's too high a population requirement in its current state (if that was indeed the case with last night, which we're still not sure of as far as I can tell). It's also easy to break the rank 5 since all you would need to do is focus your attack on one BO at a time, so outside of literally 4 v 1 scenarios, it seems like the conditions should be met to allow ranking up that way.

Dev mentioned here was me. I reduced the pop requirement to level up the keep, we will see how it plays.

Can we ask what the pop limit is? Also, is the pop limit in relation to total players in zone, or on a individual realm basis? It’s be a Shitty way to prevent a lock via changing zones...

Thanks Hargrim...frustrating as it was (mostly due to my ignorance, I think), I do appreciate you immediate attention to the matter...still nice to see better in-game support than was on live...again, much appreciated sir

It looks at total number of players in both realms, takes higher number, compare it keep rank, something something and we know if you can have 5 stars.
