Crafting - accidentally changed

I accidentally clicked on a trainer and my 165 salvaging skill that I worked on for a month went to a new one at lvl 1. Am I totally hosed? Any way to recover?
I sure this has been covered before but hard to search on crafting mistakes.

Hey bud, unfortunately yes. No way to get you back to your salvaging level that was overwritten.

We don't recover loss skills unfortunately.
Short answer is you'll have to level it up again, but you may be able to get some help from others who are willing to help if you ask them. Donate items here and there to help get you back up quicker.

Not a good solution for months of work. At least, if you are accidentally clicking on a trainer and going to lose all that effort, a question,"do you really want to change skills" question would prevent it. We ask those questions for minor things like selling stuff - why not for something major like this? This has been this way for 10 years - its time to fix it.

A month for 165!?!??! I gott 200 Scav in 1 day. Maybe its a way harder skill but still. Sorry to hear about the lost work.

Salvaging is one of the harder skills to lvl all the way to 200. You need a crap ton of items of specific lvls to get there. I was stuck on 150 for a very long time and simply didn't bother with farming so many items. In the end my buddies helped get to 195 by giving me pretty much every green/blue item they had. Once you get there you can salvage anni gear, and at that point it was pretty fast for me since I just bought a ton.
I hope I never make this mistake, it really sucks

Ive dinged salva 200 in like 2 hours or so, you can change conq emblems/medalions for set boots/gloves and salvage them.

Because this is an option for most players, who don't even have Conq complete to blow valuable currency on crafting skills, no?
