Return of Reckoning

First off, the error that pops up:

The game still loads up, however there is no options besides viewing the cinematic, in game options (i.e. video/audio), credits, and quit (all of these work).

However as far as I can tell, there is no option to create a character.

OS is Windows 10 if that helps.

can you access the file with windows explorer the launcher is complaining about ?
