Return of Reckoning

Hey all, I'm having trouble finding quest givers in the starting area to get exp and gear up my character.

Is there any work around or way to get gear as I'm having trouble killing the mobs in my starting gear.

Quests aren't working at the moment

Edit: SCs give a good amount of XP if you win, and just dot then kite a bunch of mobs. Sorry
