I have a SnB IB friend and I was wondering which class would maximize our effectiveness and take advantage of oath and guard. Thank you.

Well... as i read guard i'd say: any mdps

for the lulz: melee WP

to piss off PUGs: RP

Mdps WP (mostly SCs) or Engi (roaming), if you can get yourself a pockethealer a BiS gear/high RR Slayer does the trick, too - or a WH with plenty a pots.
Alternatively, you could duo up with another IB, a RP/AM or a KotBS, there are few classes that IB cannot successfully duo/x-roam with, given the babysitter toolkit you bring enough shinies for most classes.

The biggest issue will be the sustain of your duo partner, BW/SL/SW/WH all need either atleast a brainafk pockethealer or alot of pots ~ it is arguably not much of an issue in SCs, but roaming is tad tricky if you - for whatever reason - fail to pick your targets properly.

what timezone? and style of play will you be aiming for?

Duo sc? duo roaming? duo pug wb?

Ib snb / Ib 2h is good choice if u want to kill things in roaming
Ib snb / rp is good choice if u want to duo sc (you will lack dmg to kill things roaming but will have alot of self / group sustain)
Ib snb / wp melee good choice for sc if u want to be more aggressive in duo sc... will bring more dmg than ib/rp combo, but wp will be focussed alot more / can be kited so alot less sustain in certain situations.

First tell your friend to spec 2H IB. There is no point in going SnB in duo. Its not like he will be tanking WBs. For small encounter, 2H is plenty resilient.

Second, any class works with IB. You just end up with different capacity/possibility/playstyle.

Final note, playing 2 strong tanky melee classes is good, because you can focus on the same target and apply damage while taking a beating, your attack range is 5feet, guard is 30 feet. Good business.

Playing with a range player (rpds or healer) limit assist capacity or target selection, because range play at 100 feet. Guard is 30 feet. So you are always either away from your enemies or away from your friend. Neither is very optimal.

Oh yeah lol. Never thought about it... WP parry thing is a damage buff... not a blessing... hehehe

Wl + ib = fun, imo best roam duo

(Wp + ib = frustrating, but a good duo)
