Launcher file download

Hello all.
I have been looking through the forum posts to see if someone addressed this in the past, to no avail. It's not really a problem, I just wanted to ask if this is normal. I'm running the ror launcher as administrator. It starts up but connect is greyed out. However, it downloads the manifest then the art and the world. It then starts downloading from a list that says 42k files and this one is going so slow that it seems I'll be waiting a couple days. My connection is solid and fast. So I'm wondering if this is normal. If this was already covered I apologise, just couldn't find it anywhere. Thanks, have a great day/night.

If you've already downloaded the game, it's just validating the files. There are some new things downloaded, but it's minimal. Let it run. Close the launcher. Start it again. This cycle happens a couple times for an initial install as it gets everything up to date. Once you're on the current patch you won't see it doing anything until we patch the client files again.

I had a problem where it downloaded 100 thousand files. To fix this i just created a fresh new install and started again. It seems like my first install was borked.
