Now that some client control has been achieved, is it possible to bind a chat channel to a tab ? So i could have a tab named "guild" where everything I type is prefixed by a "/g" ,one named "warband" which silently applies a "/wb" and another titled "ot" which redirects all input to /6; this could save time from having to manually switch to the appropriate channel.

Sounds like a good idea for an addon rather than a client change tbh.

Yeah, you do know that you can right click a tab > make new tab and set chat filter on it to just display the things you want shown in that tab?

I think what OP means is to essentially bind a macro to clicking the chat tabs so that it switches teh active filter you are using to something, so say one tab would make sure that the things you type there by default is /g

This is not an issue for the base client and if needed should be an addon.
